About Anastasia Sedykh
Anastasia Sedykh, experienced instructor with La Familia De La Salsa, is the featured instructor at our next dance, Friday, March 24th, 2017. Anastasia will be teaching a beginner level Salsa dance lesson.
Anastasia was born in the Ukraine and raised on love for music, rhythm and dance. At age seven, her grandmother would take her to watch ballet at one of the most well known theaters in Ukraine, where Anastasia developed an eye for the beauty of dance. She was also trained in music at a professional music school, learning piano and domra (Ukrainian folk string instrument), and played in the school orchestra. Her parents, both having ballroom dance knowledge, gave her some of her first dance lessons.
In the U.S. she found an opportunity to develop her passion for dance. She joined Cazenovia College Dance Club, where she was studying. For three years as a dedicated participant and officer of the club, she regularly performed at year-end shows featuring hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, and ballroom. At the same time she danced in a dance group for the college theater, performing in plays such as Edward Scissorhands and Rocky Horror Picture Show.
graduation Anastasia relocated to Syracuse and joined La Familia de la Salsa. Bringing together her love for music and dance, she fell in love with Latin dancing and heart-taking melodies of Salsa, Chachacha, Bachata and Merengue. She strengthened her passion with training from world champion mambo dancer Ana Llorente, and La Familia instructors Brian Bromka and Roberto Perez, as well as Victoria Hadar, world renowned instructor of Cuban style salsa.
